Rock Climbing In Salt Lake City, Utah

Now: Tuesday morning in the ever sunny Pilipinas, listening to 80s and 70s ‘JAM’. John Denver, REO Speedwagon, Billy Joel, Heart, Aretha….YES. This is the kind of morning I like. This is why I like going to work early.

I started biking to work recently and it’s been a lot of fun. I want to share more of my experience about BTW (biking to work) in Manila later on! I’m just gathering photos and stories. For now, I have these climbing photos of beautiful Utah.

Whose helmet is this? It’s too big for my tiny head.

SCARED TO DEATH

Other wonderful moments from Utah included hiking, visiting Lake Powell and speaking with Mormon missionaries!

I hope you have a good work week! D

    1. Thank you! Yes, pine trees look great from that height haha, never knew until that day. Rock climbing is really fun and safe, and I hope the sport grows bigger in the Philippines. It’s nice to train indoors first. There are walls in Market Market and ROX (BGC), in case you want to go!

  1. I’d sure love to get lost among those trees there. They remind me a lot of my favorite childhood movie, “Bushwhacked”. Brave of you to climb all the way up there! Good job! 🙂

  2. I have yet to do something like this! When I lived in USA, most of the time I went jogging with friends, partying, exploring cities and meeting people to go out! I did camp once though! This looks like such a fun experience! I hope if I do get approved for US visa again, I can visit this place and try out hiking myself!

    1. YES! US has so much to offer in terms of outdoor activities. And what’s good is, they’re free and easily accessible. For this climb we only took a few minutes drive from home, hiked for 15 minutes and there we were ready to start climbing! Writing this comment makes me want to climb again. 😀

    1. LOL it’s really safe!! It’s good to practice indoors first to get used to hanging lol. You can do this in Market Market or ROX in BGC! 🙂

    1. Hi Jeffrey! Nothing for the hands. It is a bit painful at first and you might earn some scratches afterwards. But just like any other sport, it gets better when you do it more often. And you get better at it too. I haven’t climbed again after this, but I do miss it already! Wanna try one time?

  4. I do love to explore and do adventure at the same time just like you. It’s just that I am not sure if I can really work on it. hahaha don’t judge me. but really, rock climbing is pretty awesome to do perhaps but quite scary on the other hand too. But as per your photos, I think you’ve had enjoyed your climbing.

    1. Hey Zwitsy!! It is scary especially at first, but once you get the ‘hang’ of it, it’s actually really fun and you get a sense of accomplishment afterwards…and you’d want to do it again LOL! I hope you can try it at least once! There is indoor climbing in Market2 and ROX in BGC. 🙂

  5. I actually thought you climbed Cotopaxi in Ecuador. I got really confused! I’ve never been to Salt Lake City but I heard a lot of fantastic things about National Parks in the US. There is no rush but I plan to visit them all someday. Thanks for sharing your amazing experience! Xx

    1. Hihi! I haven’t been close to Ecuador. I am only representing the SLC-based brand, Cotopaxi. Their bags are made in the Philippines and making waves in US and maybe, soon, in Asia. They make great outdoor products from repurposed fabric and they even name their bags Luzon, Tarak, Mariveles…Filipino pride. The National Parks in the US are indeed worth the time and visit!! Thank you for dropping by Trisha!! *starstruck*

  6. Rock climbing is new to me and I first experienced it when we were in Sagada, Mountain Province. The pictures remind me well of the place as it is also full of coniferous trees surrounding the rocks. Although our climb was “highly” guided because of some steep parts, the experience is one of a kind! Hope to visit Salt Lake City someday, too! ❤

  8. Rock climbing is something I’d definitely want to try, with the proper gear and resisting the urge to look down, of course. Hahaha! How I’d love to get lost in those kinds of views. Definitely worth the climb I must say. Thanks for sharing us your adventure! 🙂

    1. Haha you are on point with not looking down. You can, as long as it doesn’t make you more nervous that you already are. That’s what it does to me! Hahaha. Thank you for dropping by Lea!!
